Welcome to
Anvaya Yoga’s
Waterside Shala

Anvaya Yoga’s Waterside Shala where design aligns with a welcoming yoga aesthetic that emanates peace and tranquillity.

The boutique conversion of the original California Bungalow garage has retained the original brick walls and vaulted ceiling with exposed timber beams. Contemporary additions are the glass doors that let the light flow in while providing a view to mature green gardens – nature’s gift.

The Shala is cosy and ensures small class sizes and individual attention. Crisp, white walls glow with the reflected blue of the new, thick, and lush carpet.

All props are provided and are stored in the anteroom adjoining the Shala, which is sentimentally known as The Cubby, reflecting its history as a child’s playhouse. The Cubby is our reception lounge with the booking desk, comfy couch, and shoe rack, plus prop storage.

Our Waterside Shala is air-conditioned to ensure optimal year-round comfort and the tall trees and gorgeous shrubs that frame it also provide welcome shade in summer.

In Sanskrit, Shala means “Home”. It describes a sacred and nurturing space where yoga is shared and experienced. It is a welcoming place where people connect, learn, and grow. The term Shala is rarely used outside of yoga, whereas the term studio is used to describe many different business enterprises (photography, modelling, yoga).
